Welcome, the staff of WE4-53-12 invites you to this years Wood Badge course! Wood Badge is the premier training program for adult Scouters and we take that very seriously. We consider ourselves temporary stewards of this program and have already begun the work necessary to bring the participants who join us an authentic and quality experience.

Wood Badge is about leadership. Its about heart and its about having fun too! Los Padres and Ventura County Councils, BSA have partnered to bring together a top notch staff. It is comprised of experienced Scouters from Los Padres and Ventura County Councils, all of whom have attended Wood Badge themselves and are returning to share the vision. The national syllabus is amazing on its own, but we believe we can bring it to life and make it even better. We can tell you with great confidence that this unique training will positively impact not only your Scouting life, but potentially every part of your life. Thats a BIG claim to make, but we think we can back it up. Find someone wearing beads and ask them about their Wood Badge experience.

Like most things which are worthwhile, Wood Badge has a time and cost commitment. We have families too, so we understand any hesitation you may have in making this decision. Since Baden-Powell conducted the first Wood Badge course at Gilwell Park in 1919, hundreds of thousands of Scouters worldwide have made the sacrifice to attend. Think about it . . . check your calendars . . talk with your family . . . and of course, find out more. There is plenty of information on this website, including links to past courses weve held.

As for us? Well, we believe in the values of Scouting and we have seen first hand the life changing moments which occur during Wood Badge. Weve made the commitment and are already dedicating out time, energy and resources to the course and the 48 Scouters who will join us. In short, we are doing and will continue to do everything to insure that you have a mountain top experience.
